JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A highly contagious virus affecting cats is on the rise in Jacksonville, according to a veterinarian, Stan Hill, who said he’s seen cases increase steadily over the past three years.
The virus, called feline panleukopenia, commonly shortened to “panleuk,” can affect cats of all ages, but it is particularly dangerous for young, sick, or unvaccinated animals.
