PORTLAND, Maine – A Portland man has been arrested on multiple child exploitation-related charges following an undercover investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, authorities announced.
Jeremy Trufant, 43, was arrested on seven counts of transmission of harmful material to a minor and one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device. The arrest stems from FDLE’s statewide initiative aimed at identifying and arresting individuals who target children and share material depicting the sexual abuse of minors.
According to FDLE, the investigation began on Oct. 16, 2025, when agents with FDLE Jacksonville conducted an undercover online chat operation. During the operation, agents identified an adult male who was sending explicit messages, images, and videos to an undercover agent posing as a juvenile.
