JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The City of Jacksonville announced on Thursday that it has been selected as part of a four-state expansion to the U.S. Civil Rights Trail.
With the upcoming additions in Virginia, Louisiana, Tennessee and here in Jacksonville, the goal of the project is to “offer travelers new destinations to explore pivotal stories, places, and voices that shaped the nation’s civil rights movement.”
The city says that as part of the expansion, the Jacksonville Civil Rights Trail will be created, consisting of place-based markers and educational resources around different streets and neighborhoods across the city…
