JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A police officer with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) was arrested after officials say he battered a man at a Clay County business on Saturday.
Deputies with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for service in reference to an assault at a business in the early morning hours. After arriving, they reportedly met the victim on the front patio of the bar, who said he was trying to “de-escalate” an argument when he was “battered” by the suspect.
Deputies say they were able to find and identify the suspect, John H. Tiedeman, 49, during a traffic stop. Following an interview, he was taken to the Clay County Jail and is now facing battery on a person 65 years of age or older…
