Jacksonville police officer arrested on battery charge in Clay County

A longtime Jacksonville police officer has been reassigned after his arrest following an altercation at a Clay County bar.

John H. Tiedeman, a 27-year Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office veteran, was arrested on a felony charge of Battery on a Person 65 Years of Age or Older following a Valentine’s Day incident, the Sheriff’s Office said in a Feb. 14 news release.

He is the fourth JSO employee arrested this year…
