Standoff in Callahan Ends in Tragedy

An hourslong standoff in Callahan between the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office and a man who was arrested earlier in the week ended in the early hours of Thursday, February 12 when deputies found Kenneth Williams Presgraves had died by suicide.

Deputies responded to Presgraves’ home on Jessica Place around 4 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11 after he contacted NCSO to tell them his wife was at his home and said she trying to get him into more trouble.

Earlier in the week, on February 9, Presgraves was arrested for illegally installing a tracking device and stalking his wife. His wife filed for divorce in August 2025. Following his arrest, a no-contact order was issued by Judge Lester Bass on Tuesday, February 10 prohibiting Presgraves from being within 500 feet of the residence he shared with his wife. At that time, Presgraves was also court ordered to turn over any registered weapons in his possession by February 11 at 11:03 a.m…
