JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man who spent years experiencing homelessness is set to move into his first home Monday after saving money while living and working at the Trinity Rescue Mission and getting help from a local real estate agent and donors.
Brian Fultson fell into homelessness after health problems and the loss of his finances led to job loss, the Trinity Rescue Mission said. While at the shelter, he worked and made a point of saving every dollar he earned. Over three years, he saved thousands of dollars and joined the shelter’s lifeline program.
Through a client referral, Fultson met Lena Williams of United Real Estate. Williams helped him on the path to homeownership and organized donations to make the move easier. She surprised Fultson with balloons and donated furniture as he prepares to move into a house that is still a work in progress…
