What began as a neighborhood street party on Jacksonville’s Eastside early Sunday turned into a scene of chaos when gunfire erupted, wounding four people and sending crowds scrambling off the block. Officers flooded the area as emergency crews treated the injured, and what was supposed to be a night out quickly turned into a crime scene. Investigators say the work is far from over as they canvass the neighborhood for witnesses and surveillance video.
According to First Coast News, the shooting happened in the middle of the street gathering and left four people hurt. Initial coverage showed a heavy law enforcement presence and officers going door to door for information, but early reports included few details on the conditions of those wounded.
