Morning traffic along US-301 turned tragic Thursday when a 59-year-old Baldwin woman was killed and two children were badly hurt in a two-vehicle crash just north of I-10 in Duval County. How The Crash Unfolded
According to First Coast News, citing the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman had just pulled out of a driveway in the 2400 block of US-301 near Summerfield Lane. She drove across the northbound lanes toward the grass median when a gray Ford pickup heading north in the left lane slammed into the left side of her Honda. The impact crumpled the sedan and left debris scattered across the roadway while crews worked to clear the scene.

Two children in the Honda, ages 4 and 7, suffered serious injuries and were taken to local hospitals, the Florida Highway Patrol told reporters, per News4JAX. The pickup’s driver, a 28-year-old woman from Callahan, was also seriously hurt. Troopers said the 59-year-old driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene.
