Jacksonville caregiver arrested, accused of stealing more than $98K from elderly patient

The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said detectives arrested a Jacksonville woman after an investigation into theft from an elderly patient in her care.

Detectives say the victim reported a large sum missing from her bank account in January 2025. Investigators determined a fraudulent credit card account was opened in February 2024 using the victim’s personal information, and they said the account was linked to the suspect’s business.

The sheriff’s office said more than $98,075.95 was taken from the victim between April and November 2024…
