One of those accused in Jared Bridegan murder-for-hire plot will return to court next week for another hearing

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – One of the men accused of plotting to kill St. Johns County father of four Jared Bridegan in 2022 will return to court next week for another pre-trial hearing while his case moves through the judicial process.

Mario Fernandez, who was previously denied bond in what prosecutors are calling a murder-for-hire case, has been in the Duval County jail since his arrest in March of 2023, three years ago.

Bridegan’s ex-wife, Shanna Gardner, and Fernandez, her now estranged husband, are both under indictment for first-degree murder and other charges in the February 2022 ambush shooting. They have each pleaded not guilty…
