JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The latest drought monitor is out, and it’s not good news for our area. The area of extreme drought remains over most of our area.
An “exceptional” drought has expanded in coverage across the region. This now includes all of Columbia County and most of Baker and Union counties in Florida. In Georgia, most of Ware County is under an “exceptional” drought.
A portion of our area would need over 15-20″ to get out of the drought. The deficit continues to grow across our area as we have seen hardly any rain over the past few weeks…
