Judge sentences man for brutal armed robbery at N.J. hotel where woman was duct-taped, zip-tied to chair

A 35-year-old man who formerly lived in Hudson County will spend 13 years in state prison for his role in an armed robbery and assault at a Morris County hotel in 2024, authorities said.

Louis M. Verdesoto was sentenced Friday after he previously pleaded guilty to first-degree armed robbery and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, according to a statement from the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
