Some important new SNAP rules have officiallyrolledout in New York City, and they’re worth paying attention to.

If you or someone you love relies on benefits, a few updates could affect eligibility, paperwork, or how things get processed going forward. The good news? Once you know what’schanged, it’s pretty straightforward to stay on top of it and make sure everything keeps running smoothly.

  • You do not have a physical or mental health condition that keeps you from working.

There’s also an important headsup for gig workers and freelancers: If you do contract work or gig apps, this stillapplies to you. You can meet the requirement as long as you work at least 20 hours a week, or earn at least $217.50 a week before taxes…
