Robber punches subway rider, steals his phone at Columbus Circle station: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD on Tuesday released surveillance photos as they search for a man wanted for punching a subway rider and stealing his phone at the Columbus Circle station last month.

The incident took place on Tuesday, May 26, at approximately 7:10 p.m. where according to police, a 46-year-old man was standing on the southbound A train platform in the Midtown station.The suspect approached the victim then punched him multiple times, causing him to drop his phone, officials said. The attacker then snatched the phone and fled the station by boarding a northbound A train.
