The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit, with assistance from Jersey City police, are investigating a fatal shooting on Fulton Avenue near Bayside Place.
At approximately 12:50 a.m. this morning, the Jersey City Police Department was notified of shots fired on Fulton Avenue in the area of Bayside Place, according to Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello.
Responding officers located an injured man – later identified as Leighton Brown, 47, of Jersey City – with an apparent gunshot wound He was transported to the Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased several hours later, Mello added.
The cause and manner of death are pending with the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office…
