But this fall, one of its most captivating icons is getting a dramatic new look: St. Patrick’s Cathedral will transform into a living canvas of light, music, and history.
When centuries of history meet light and music
Starting October 2nd, LUMINISCENCE, a production that has already welcomed more than 2 million people across more than 20 shows in eight countries, will bring its acclaimed immersive light experience to St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
During the roughly 60-minute performance, 360-degree video mapping will cover the cathedral’s soaring arches, columns, and stone walls, turning its Gothic architecture into a constantly changing canvas. The show follows three chapters, Gathering, Community, and Nation, exploring the people and events that shaped the cathedral and its place in New York.
