Hudson County residents and elected officials gathered in Jersey City this morning to rally for public 24/7 webcams at Newark Liberty International Airport for the sake of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainee safety at Delaney Hall.
The rally took place at 2 Montgomery Street in Jersey City, outside of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey office.
The short event was organized by Hoboken Resist, and featured speakers from local activists and community leaders in the wake of allegedly abysmal treatment of ICE detainees at Delaney Hall, which is also in Newark.
Activists in attendance chanted in opposition and carried signs emblazoned with slogans including: “EYES on EWK” and “No Secret Flights Out Of Newark,” amid other banners and visuals…
