Jersey City Planning Board approves transportation amendments to Master Plan

The Jersey City Planning Board approved new “Let’s Move” amendments to the transportation components of the Master Plan at last night’s meeting.

Off the bat, Commissioner Andy Kaplan, also the director of the city’s Department of Infrastructure, recused himself from the application since he and the department helped develop it.

Infrastructure Department Transportation Planner Eli Guseman explained they applied for a grant to update the transportation circulation element of the Master Plan in 2024, but it is still yet to be updated since 2013.

“Since then, there’s been a growing body of planning work … So, there was really a need to bring together these efforts under a new cohesive vision for our transportation system,” he argued…
