Jersey City Crash Claims Life of Bayonne Woman

JERSEY CITY, NJ – A fatal collision in the area on Route 185 in the area of the Linden Avenue East intersection in Jersey City claimed the life of a Bayonne woman early Saturday, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

According to a statement, the crash, which involved a 2019 Nissan passenger vehicle colliding with the rear of a parked and unoccupied tractor trailer, took place at approximately 12:20 a.m.

The driver, a 28-year-old Staten Island resident and a passenger, a 27-year-old Old Bridge resident were transported to Jersey City Medical Center (JCMC) with non-life-threatening injuries and released. The second passenger, identified as Stephanie Weymouth, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 1:00 a.m.

While no arrests have been made, the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this case.
