Rollin’ 60s Crips Gang Member Sentenced for Racketeering

A 22-year-old gang affiliate receives a 12-year federal prison sentence for participating in violent crimes and drug distribution.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJTre Byrd, known by aliases “Bands” and “G Bandz,” a confirmed member of the Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips, has been sentenced to 144 months in prison for his involvement in a racketeering conspiracy. U.S. District Judge Susan D. Wigenton delivered the sentence today, marking a significant conviction under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act in Newark federal court.

Byrd’s criminal activities spanned from 2015 through September 22, 2022, where he actively engaged in the gang’s operations across New Jersey, contributing to acts of violence and controlled substance distribution. Notably, in March 2019, Byrd collaborated with fellow gang members to execute a rival gang member in Irvington, New Jersey. Additionally, in June 2020, Byrd participated in an armed robbery in Newark, further underscoring the dangerous nature of his gang affiliation.
