Tuareg musician Mdou Moctar is was in NYC this week for shows at LES’ Bowery Ballroom on Tuesday and Greenpoint’s Warsaw on Wednesday. The current Northeast heatwave broke with storms on Wednesday night but there was thunder, lightning and fire onstage at Warsaw as Mdou Moctar ripped it up. He also brought out Tuareg musician Bombino, who starts his own tour this weekend. Watch video of that below.
