World No 1 Jannik Sinner takes on home-favorite Taylor Fritz in the men’s singles final of the US Open on Sunday at the Billie Jean King Tennis Centre in New York.

Sinner, who won his first-ever Grand Slam title earlier this year at the Australian Open, comes into the final on the back of a 7-5, 7-6 (3), 6-2 win over Brit Jack Draper.

In the quarterfinal, Sinner had beaten former champion Daniil Medvedev in four sets to ensure there would be a new US Open men’s champion this season.

Fritz beat compatriot Frances Tiafoe 4-6, 7-5, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 to enter his first singles major final.
