‘Administrative investigation’ results in state police commander losing top local post

ONEIDA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The commanding officer of State Troopers serving most of Central and Northern New York is out of the job, a spokesperson for New York State Police confirms to NewsChannel 9.

Major Robert Simpson is “no longer the Troop Commander of Troop D,” spokesperson Beau Duffy said.

“His reassignment is pending,” Duffy added, saying the transition is a result of “a pending administrative investigation.”
