Earthquake confirmed in New Jersey at 1.8 magnitude

A minor earthquake struck Somerset County early Friday morning, but no damage was reported, officials said.

The 1.8-magnitude quake originated about 7 kilometers from Gladstone at a depth of roughly 8 kilometers, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It struck at 8:23 a.m.
