High pressure is settling over the Eastern US today and we have also gotten rid of the last upper trough that is now over Eastern Canada. The result will be a good deal of sunshine today with nothing more than a few passing clouds. The northwest flow over the Northeast and Mid Atlantic continues and this will leave temperatures close to average for this time of year. Highs this afternoon will be in the low to middle 50s. Radars are nice and quiet and no precipitation is forecast. Most lows tonight will be in the mid 30s to around 40 degrees or so under mainly clear skies.
Friday begins the process of setting up the parts of the Northeast and all of the Mid Atlantic states in a big warm up. An east west frontal boundary will form across Upstate NY and Central New England, probably close to the I-90 corridor. Low pressure is heading to the Great Lakes and high pressure is moving offshore into the Southwest Atlantic south of Bermuda.
