Paterson man convicted of endangering the welfare of a child

A Passaic County jury on Wednesday convicted a man of second- and third-degree charges of endangering the welfare of a child following a trial in Superior Court in Paterson.

Renato C. LaTorre, 25, of Paterson, was found guilty after a jury trial before Judge Barbara J. Buono Stanton. He was convicted of one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and one count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

According to investigators, on April 4, 2023, the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children indicating that a Google account associated with LaTorre had uploaded 15 videos depicting child sexual abuse material between June 22 and July 18, 2022.
