Wet and wild! New Jersey braces for fog, showers, and thunderstorms to start the week

TRENTON, N.J. — New Jersey residents can expect a weather rollercoaster through Tuesday, with patchy fog, rising temperatures, gusty winds, and a round of potentially heavy rain and thunderstorms on the horizon.

Today , areas of fog will linger until around 11 a.m., followed by mostly cloudy skies and a high near 53 degrees. Winds will come from the east at 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight , clouds will persist, with a 30% chance of showers developing after 3 a.m. Fog is expected to return before 2 a.m., and the low will hover around 52 degrees. Winds will shift from east to south overnight, possibly gusting up to 20 mph. Rainfall, if any, is expected to be light.

Monday brings a significant shift in weather, with a high near 72 degrees. Showers are likely, and thunderstorms are possible after 5 p.m. South winds will pick up to around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.
