Two Newark Women Charged in Death of Jersey City Motorcyclist

Two Newark women have been charged in connection with a fatal crash involving a motorcycle driven by a Jersey City man.

According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, the women gave police false information during an investigation into the October 31, 2024 crash which killed 43-year-old Steven Brown. Brown died after his motorcycle collided with a GMC car near Sip Avenue and Routes 1&9.

At the scene, Shaneeka Croom, who was arrested yesterday with Elnoria Croom-Lundy, told police that she was a passenger in the GMC at the time of the collision. Croom-Lundy arrived afterward and said she had been the driver. The investigation revealed that Croom was, in fact, the driver and that Croom-Lundy wasn’t present at the time of the collision…
