A Wakefield neighborhood is left in shock as police are actively investigating the death of a 38-year-old woman and an 8-year-old boy.
Police say they responded to a call at 683 East 231st Street where they found the unidentified woman and child unresponsive and unconscious inside their second-floor apartment. Both the woman and child were evaluated by EMS before being confirmed dead.
