Wealthy residents in one of the richest counties in the United States are fleeing due to a silent crisis with devastating effects.
Bergen County, New Jersey, has a median income level of $110,000, far above the national average of $69,000. The wealthy state has some of the most real estate in the country, with the median home price coming in at an eye-watering $710,000, according to Redfin.
The county is also home to the borough of Alpine, a luxury enclave that has been dubbed “the Beverly Hills of New Jersey,” and the affluent region has been home to celebrities including Briney Spears, Chirs Rock and Kellyanne Conway.
