BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) — A 46-year-old woman was sentenced to 23 years to life in prison for killing a former friend at a candle lighting ceremony in August 2021, Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez announced Wednesday.
Claudia Banton was convicted of second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon on April 3, 2025.
