On July 12, a peaceful protest against federal immigration policies near the border of Hudson and Bergen counties was disrupted when a driver struck several demonstrators with her vehicle.
The incident occurred in the area between Fairview and North Bergen townships as protesters were crossing the street. A witness who requested anonymity said, “They were crossing the street and this lady was at the light and started driving over them.” According to another bystander, the driver shouted support for ICE before accelerating into the group, despite being stopped at a red light.
The driver’s vehicle and license plate were captured on video. No law enforcement statement has been issued, and the extent of injuries remains unconfirmed…
