Measles case confirmed in New Jersey, health officials investigating

TRENTON, N.J. (PIX11) — New Jersey health officials are investigating a confirmed case of measles in Hudson County.

The resident who was diagnosed with measles used public transportation while potentially infectious, according to officials.

The New Jersey Department of Health is warning that anyone who traveled on the following routes at the specified dates and times could have been exposed:

  • NJ Transit Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, 8th Street, Bayonne to Hoboken branch
    • August 13, 14, and 15 between 9 and 11 a.m. and 6 and 9 p.m.
  • 8th Street Light Rail Station in Bayonne
    • August 13, 14, and 15 between 9 and 11 a.m. and 7 and 9 p.m.
  • PATH Newark – World Trade Center Line
    • August 13, 14, and 15 between 9:15 and 11:45 a.m. and 5:45 and 8:30 p.m.
  • Exchange Place Station, Jersey City
    • August 13, 14, and 15 between 9:15 and 11:45 a.m. and 5:45 and 8:30 p.m.

If you suspect exposure or illness, contact your local health department or a healthcare providerbefore going to any medical office or emergency department.
