Goodbye, mall: N.J. shopping mall to become town center with ‘luxury apartments’

A redevelopment project is underway to transform Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus into a comprehensive town center, combining residential living with retail, dining and entertainment options.

Preparation for the project began this year including the construction of a new location for NJ Transit in the West Lot, as well as roadway alignment through the same lot, according to Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield.

A groundbreaking is expected in 2026.
