At Home, the home decor big-box retailer, has confirmed through court filings that they will be shuttering 29 stores permanently across the U.S. this month.
The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection earlier this summer, blaming operational difficulties, economic strain from heightened tariffs, and substantial debt burdens. The retailer pointed to “broader economic and retail-specific market pressures” impacting their operations.
This development follows a surge of other retailers seeking bankruptcy protection, including Joann Fabric and Party City, while major department stores like Macy’s and JCPenney continue closing locations nationwide.

When is At Home closing stores?
The 29 locations will officially shut their doors by Sept. 30. At Home had been running more than 260 stores spanning 40 states with over 7,000 workers.
