She broke her hand at work, then Dunkin’ told her she was ‘no longer needed,’ lawsuit says

A woman who worked for a Dunkin’ store in Secaucus has filed a discrimination lawsuit against the chain, claiming she was replaced with a male employee after taking leave due to a workplace injury.

Shanice Hamilton, of Brooklyn, New York, states in court papers she broke her right hand and sustained related nerve injuries while working at the store on Meadowlands Parkway in May 2023.

The suit states Hamilton went out on disability, her position was taken over by a man, and she was terminated two days before she was to return to her job, according to the suit, filed July 25 in Superior Court of Hudson County…
