NEW YORK (PIX11) — Health officials report that there have been 1,288 positive cases of West Nile Virus detected in mosquitoes tested across New York City in 2025.
There have been 10 human cases, 8 of whom suffered encephalitis, meningitis, or acute flaccid paralysis.

The health department has scheduled more pesticide spraying this week in Brooklyn and Queens, weather permitting.
Spraying will begin at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the following neighborhoods: Bedford-Stuyvesant, Broadway Junction, Broadway Triangle, Brownsville, Bushwick, Crown Heights, Cypress Hills, East New York, East Williamsburg, Glendale, Greenpoint, New Lots, Ridgewood, South Williamsburg, and Williamsburg…
