Union City native Matt Rivera, a 2016 graduate of Union City High School, was recently featured on the comedy show “Kill Tony,” where host Tony Hinchcliffe described his set as a “rock solid minute.” His performance earned him a spot on the invitation-only “Secret Show,” hosted by Brian Redban at Sunset Strip ATX.
According to the show’s description, Redban “brings his legendary SECRET lineup of comics” ranging from A-list performers to rising stars, with audiences never knowing “who’s going to be called onstage next.”
During the episode, Rivera also spoke about his personal life, including his experience living with diabetes. The panel for the episode included comedian Carrot Top and WWE Hall of Famer Triple H.
Rivera, who studied at Hudson County Community College and New Jersey City University, has been performing stand-up comedy for five years. He has appeared on “Kill Tony” three times.
