A Hudson County-based government contractor will pay over $4 million in fines after the U.S. Attorney’s Office in New Jersey found the company hired undocumented immigrants to work on Navy ships.
Bayonne Drydock and Repair Corporation employed approximately 52 people without the legal status to work in the United States from May 2017 through December 2020, according to a news release.
