Testing Finds Almost No Lead in Jersey City Public Schools’ Drinking Water

Seventeen million dollars and 1,200 new water fountains later, lab testing has confirmed that the drinking water in the Jersey City Public Schools (JCPS) now contains, with only a few exceptions, no detectable lead.

State-mandated testing performed in June found lead in very few samples taken from the more than 3,360 outlets used to dispense water for drinking or food preparation in JCPS facilities.
