Dramatic videos shared online showed heavy flooding in Jersey City during the storm, with roads submerged under water, while a local brewery sustained major damage as water gushed through its ceiling. Flood warnings were issued across multiple towns as the heavy rain led to travel chaos.
The Toms River Police Department warned drivers to be cautious when traveling in the downtown area and announced that Irons Street and Herflicker Boulevard had been shut. Secaucus police also announced several full and partial road closures amid reports of flash flooding, while heavy flooding caused police in Fairfield, Essex County to put up detours on Passaic Avenue between New Dutch Lane and West Greenbrook Road.
