RESIDENTS of a major American city are being forced to apply and pay for a permit just to park in front of their own driveways.
Colloquially called the “driveway” law, the fine for not having the proper permit it provides for parking in the US city vastly outweighs the associated application fees.
Chapter 332, Article XI, Section 332-82 of the Jersey City Code of Ordinances specifies that residents must apply for a special permit allowing them to block their own driveways by parking in front of them.
