Woman killed after garbage truck topples scaffolding in East Harlem

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A private sanitation truck driver plowed into a car and building scaffolding in East Harlem on Tuesday morning, killing a woman, police said.

According to the NYPD, it happened at approximately 6:27 a.m. near the intersection of First Avenue and East 101st Street.

The driver of the truck lost control of the vehicle and first collided with an unoccupied, parked Kia Forte, authorities said.
