Two members of an Essex County drug trafficking organization, including its leader who was convicted of murdering one of his fellow members, were sentenced last week to prison, federal prosecutors said.
The leader, Michael Mayse, 39, of Newark, was sentenced to 45 years in prison, and the main drug supplier, Gary Shahid, 67, of Newark, was handed a 17-year sentence, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office District of New Jersey.
