Amazon To Lay Off 841 NJ Employees As Fresh, Go Stores Prepare To Close: Here’s Where

According to NJ WARN data, a total of 871 layoffs are scheduled in New Jersey, with the largest number affecting Bergen County, where 417 jobs are expected to be eliminated.

Additional layoffs are listed in Passaic County, where 240 positions are impacted, followed by Monmouth County with 141 job cuts and Hudson County with 44, the database shows. Another 29 layoffs are listed as statewide.

Amazon announced the new round of layoffs in a message sent to employees on Wednesday, Jan. 28, as the online retail giant shifts resources toward artificial intelligence.
