Greg Kierce’s last day as the Jersey City Department of Public Works director will be April 15th as the city begins a nationwide search for his successor, though he will remain head of the city’s Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
“From day one, this administration has been committed to delivering a city government that actually works for the residents of Jersey City—and that starts with getting the basics right. I am grateful to Director Kierce for his leadership during this transition and for his continued service protecting our city as Director of Emergency Management,” Mayor James Solomon said in a statement.
“Now, we are searching for a forward-thinking leader who understands both the nuts and bolts of keeping a city running and how to modernize outdated systems to better support the hardworking men and women who keep Jersey City clean and operational every single day.”
