Trader Joe’s gets green light for another N.J. store

West Orange Township has granted Trader Joe’s approval to open a store in Mount Pleasant Plaza.

On Feb. 4, the township planning board gave approval to the national chain of neighborhood grocery stores to retrofit and occupy 18,767 square feet of existing commercial space at 457 Mount Pleasant Ave. The site previously housed the Metropolitan Plant Exchange.

“I’m grateful to Trader Joe’s for the substantial investment they’re making in our town,” West Orange Mayor Susan McCartney said. “I know they’re community minded and how well they treat their employees. I welcome them to West Orange and thank them for their investment.”…
