Construction Ramps Up at High-Profile Jersey City Restaurant Punjab Meet House

A new eatery from the ownership behind New York City’s GupShup has officially begun the buildout of their restaurant as Punjab Meet House is slated to open inside a large space in Downtown Jersey City.

Jersey Digs first reported on the planned restaurant way back in 2023 when a company named Grand Trunk Hospitality LLC applied to Jersey City’s Alcoholic Beverage Control to transfer a liquor license to “space B” at 25 Columbus Drive. The company’s ownership could be traced to Ahtesham Rizvi, who runs GupShup in Manhattan’s Gramercy neighborhood.
