The Hudson County Board of Commissioners is readying to investigate the closure of Heights University Hospital, set for tomorrow evening, as they wait to see how what the New Jersey Department of Health does.
Hudson County Counsel Alberico De Pierro asserted that the NJDOH said that tomorrow’s closure cannot proceed, despite that fact that Hudson Regional Health (HRH), the hospital operator, is clearly moving forward after keeping the facility open an additional two weeks.
Additionally, De Pierro stated that the NJDOH confirmed that the application to close the hospital is still pending. He said the move would also require approve from the state Health Planning Board after multiple public meetings.
